WESTMINSTER LOCOMOTIVE WORKS, LLC is a small one man operation dedicated to the continued production of an American Original, the CRICKET LIVE STEAM MOTOR.   The original Crickets were produced in the early nineties by Berkeley Locomotive Works. 

     I acquired the rights to the locomotive after talking with the creator, Michael O'Rourke many years ago.  He was very supportative and we were able to come to an agreeable arrangement.  He has been a tremendous help in getting things on track and  gave me much help and input.

    I have made several improvements including a new burner design and opening front smoke box for easier lighting.  A few changes on the boiler for better steam discharge, yet, keeping the original design intact.  I build each unit with great care and feel I am losing a child when one leaves for its new home.  I use all U.S. suppliers for all my materials and any specialized machining that I cannot do with my small lathe and mill set up.

    I hope you will consider a Cricket MKII for your roster.  I do not take any deposits, if you are interested I place you on a waiting list with your color choice. Once I have completed the locomotive I will contact you for full payment and then ship out.  If you need to cancel, there are no worries, I just move on to the next person.  

    Due to a deteriorating spinal nerve condition, I am only able to produce only about 8-10 locos a year, so plan accordingly.  However, it does give you time to build up that locomotive fund!
