I was intrigued by Crickets for a number of years, but only started in live steam after Berkley went out of production. I ordered early when Mike K. announced new production.
My engine WLW #4, is a lovely British racing green, and one of my very favorite engines -- See my two articles in Steam in the Garden for the detailed version.
Do not let the minor teething problems I had put you off. I was happy enough to order a second one and now also have WLW #26, in bright fire engine red. As we ran them yesterday, my only concerns were which one was prettier and whatever did I do to deserve such fun.
I have dealt with Mike Krionderis through the developement and production of these engines. I am impressed with the pains he has taken to produce quality engines and his consistent concern for customer satisfaction. The WLW Cricket is a great engine, and one tolerant of tight curves and steep grades.
Many thanks, Mike Simpson
